World Polo League Palm Beach Open
Bennett Awards created these custom awards for the World Polo League (WPL), North American polo league that features the top players and most athletic horses in the world. Three different custom award designs were created, one for each of three separate tournaments. Each sculpture design was unique and tailored to that specific tournament.
This specific award was created for the WPL Palm Beach Open, on the key tournaments in the series. The design for these awards features a globe sculpture with a bas relief of a polo horse. The sculpture was raised above its base by three polo mallet sculptures. All of these sculpture components were cast in bronze with an antique bronze patina.
Two sets of custom sculpture awards were created: individual recognition awards for each participant, and a perpetual award honoring each year’s winning team. The individual awards were mounted on black hexagon-shaped bases with a bronze plate signifying award information. This sculpture and base combination was then mounted on a two-tier square base for the perpetual award, with individual medallions signifying each year’s winners.
